See the operation clearly

Find the Operational Bottlenecks Worth Solving

RTI works alongside your teams to observe workflows, interview operators, review systems and establish the facts before recommending technology.

The Operational Problem

Operations Discovery is a structured 1–2 week engagement that maps how work actually happens, where it slows down, which systems are disconnected, and which improvement opportunities can produce measurable value.

  • Leaders know operations feel inefficient, but cannot agree on the root causes.
  • Processes documented in SOPs do not match what frontline teams actually do.
  • Work moves through spreadsheets, email, WhatsApp and disconnected systems.
  • Teams repeatedly fix symptoms without measuring whether the underlying process improved.
  • Technology requests arrive before the business problem has been defined.

What Improvement Should Produce

01A current-state report grounded in observed work
02Workflow maps showing handoffs, delays and manual intervention
03A system inventory covering ERP, WMS, TMS, CRM, commerce and reporting tools
04A pain-point register connected to operational impact
05Baseline metrics and a ranked opportunity backlog
06A recommended first Operations Sprint

How RTI Approaches the Work

01

Interview

Speak with executives, operations leaders and the people performing the work.

02

Observe

Follow real orders, support cases, warehouse tasks and delivery exceptions from start to finish.

03

Map

Document people, processes, systems, handoffs, delays, duplicate data and decision points.

04

Prioritize

Score opportunities by business value, effort, risk, adoption likelihood and time to value.

Work With the Environment You Already Have

RTI integrates and configures existing systems before recommending replacement.

  • ERP
  • CRM
  • WMS
  • TMS
  • Accounting
  • E-commerce platforms
  • Email and messaging
  • Reporting tools
  • Internal applications

Measure the Operational Result

  • Order processing time
  • Customer response time
  • Manual hours
  • Error and rework rate
  • SLA performance
  • Throughput
  • Operational cost

Questions About Operations Discovery

How long does Operations Discovery take?

Most engagements take one to two weeks. The exact duration depends on the number of workflows, locations and systems in scope.

Do you need to be on site?

On-site observation is valuable for warehouses, fulfillment centers and other physical operations. Remote discovery works well for customer operations, reporting and digitally coordinated workflows. Hybrid delivery is often the best option.

Does Discovery assume AI is the answer?

No. Discovery is technology-agnostic. The recommendation may be to eliminate work, simplify a process, configure an existing system, integrate tools, automate repetitive steps, apply AI or build software only when necessary.

What do we receive at the end?

You receive workflow maps, a system inventory, baseline metrics, a pain-point register, a ranked opportunity list and a recommendation for the first measurable improvement sprint.

Discuss a Operations Discovery Bottleneck

Bring one workflow or operational problem. RTI will help define the root cause and the most practical first step.
